A child has a legal right to be admitted to a school full-time at the start of the school term following his or her fifth birthday.
Somerset’s policy is to admit children to school in the academic year that they become 5 (i.e. the September after their fourth birthday).
Attendance at Kingsmoor will normally be on a part-time basis for part of the Autumn Term, and the start date may be staggered over the first six weeks. Part-time attendance can continue after the above period with the agreement of the parents and school.
If the number of applications for places at Kingsmoor exceeds our Planned Admission Limit the Admission Criteria will be applied in strict order to decide how places can be offered.
Admission Criteria
The Local Authority is the admission authority for this school and places are allocated in accordance with their published arrangements. Details can be obtained at admissions
or by ringing Somerset Direct on 0300 123 2224.
Parents wishing to start their older child at school mid year should complete an admission form (copies available from the school). This will be considered by the School and the Local Authority and a place granted if the school has places.
